The Atlanta HBCU Alumni Alliance will host its 19th Annual HBCU 5K Run/Walk on June 27, 2026, at Piedmont Park, bringing together more than 65 metro Atlanta HBCU alumni chapters for one of the nation's largest HBCU gatherings. The event serves as a major fundraiser that provides scholarships and book grants to HBCU students, helping reduce financial barriers and create greater access to higher education.
Proceeds from registrations, sponsorships, and donations directly support students while advancing the Alliance's commitment to educational equity and community empowerment.
This year's race will feature an expanded President's Challenge, a Health & Wellness Fair, scholarship and book grant opportunities, a Kids Zone, and local community vendors. Atlanta will also join HBCU Alumni Alliances in Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia in hosting simultaneous 5K events, creating a multi-city movement centered on service, pride, and collective health action.
More than a race, the event also promotes community wellness by addressing health disparities and increasing access to health resources in Black communities. With more than 3,000 participants already registered, organizers expect this year's event to be one of the largest in its history.
Those interested in participating can register at Race Roster Registration Page. The Alliance's message remains clear: “Run for you. Run for them. Run for us.”
